Ant Farm - Update

Sorry for not posting daily updates on my ant farm. I've been wrapped up with normal life stuff - ack! Lame, I know.

These harvester ants have made a nice home for themselves. Once they dug main boundaries, they started to fill in connector tunnels. The connector tunnels haven't been completed with the fervor of the previous tunnels.

Here's some new pictures of the ant farm.

1924

So Erin and I went out on a "real date" last night. First stop: Times Ten Cellars. Lovely, and it's not a total racket like other wine bars. After that we ate at Kitchen 1924. We've both been there before, but what really surprised me this time were the Deviled Eggs with Mixed Greens (with plum balsamic) and Smoked Gouda Grits. Whoa!

Valentine's Day Cards

Because you care enough to hit send... or at least that's what someecards.com says. I especially enjoyed this one (one decent card among many horribly inappropriate cards). Absolutely adorable and deplorable at the same time.

Ant Farm: Days 2 - 4

Wow, these ants have made some serious progress. It feels nice to take a little time to document the progress of the Ant Team (potential play on words avoided here, gosh I wanted to go A-team on you... so bad) and share their journey with you. And amidst heckling from friends, I maintain my course in continuing the story.

Ant Farm - Day 1

So Santa gave me an ant farm this year. I finally ordered the ants online and they showed up last night in my mailbox, sealed in a padded envelope in a tidy tube.

So I poked some starter holes for these larger-than-life pinchers, sheepishly opened up the test tube, and by no small act of God got them all safely delivered with the lid closed. No bites!

Here are some photos! I'll make updates as the tunneling continues over the next few days.
