Digital Narratives Final

Ack! I'm knee-deep in my digital narratives final project and it's slow goin'. So I'm taking a small break to regroup before I get back to adding content. Hopefully I can get the messaging added in the next day or two so I can focus some time on adding art. And this coming weekend will be consumed by the final paper about the project. Think of it as a 7-page artist's statement and analysis.
Fingers crossed!

Nokia: Get Out and Play

While loading and waiting on some video files to finish compressing, I checked the blogs. Found this lovely site from UX Mag. Here's a fun stop-motion ad spot for Nokia. Includes a 3D (ish?) game of human tetris.

(You might want to skip the arkanoid-like game at the beginning.)

Church Newsletter

I've been producing my church's newsletter since June 2007 and it all seems a blur by this point. It's amazing how lucky I've been in coordinating the effort (with priceless help from my dad - a mentor in more ways than he'll ever know) and people have generally accepted and embraced the change. And I'm thankful for that. Moreover, it's a move in a cost-saving direction for the congregation too. We're saving money on printing as well as postage.

Wish List:
  1. Church Blog
  2. Download Sermons (now that we have a decent sound system it seems like archiving worship services could be a possibility... if need arises).
  3. More outside-of-worship interaction on the site (said need principle).
I have a summer coming up. I'm feeling a redesign coming on.

Sound Design: One-Note Song

Here is my first whack at a 1-minute "one note" song in Garage Band for Sound Design class. The assignment was to create a one-minute, one-note song using Garage Band.

My first real song-makin' experience was ok! The project started and ended in tonight's 3-hour study window. Pretty simple, but it is a good first attempt at getting to know the interface and using midi sounds better. If I had more time, I would change several things. However, perfection was not the goal here. I'm more focused on getting to know the program...
