I pulled a few rutgers tomatoes before they turned the slightest bit yellow. That’s okay, though, because they turned in to killer fried tomatoes. Erin served these excellent greenies with a yogurt sauce, along with a blueberry sauce-smothered pork chop and roasted cauliflower.
In other news, I bought some 6-foot bamboo poles and green twine today to help support some of the tomato plants.
Looks delicious. I’d never thought of having fried green tomatoes at the beginning of the season. Of course, why not? Next year, consider the Tomato Towers (4.4 ft.) or the Stacking Tomato Ladders (6.5 ft).
